ABU DHABI, 2nd February: The Emirates Metrology Institute of the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) took part in the fourth Gulf Metrology Assembly meetings in Abu Dhabi, and held technical committee discussions on developing the measurement and calibration capabilities of member states.
The discussions also included means to obtain international recognition for member states to support the economies of these countries.
His Excellency Saeed Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Emirates Institute of Metrology, said: "The meeting of the heads and secretaries of the technical committees of metrology was attended by representatives from the national metrology institutes of GCC countries. The meetings discussed and reviewed special developments at the technical committees, in addition to ways to enhance cooperation between the members, strengthening the measurement and calibration capabilities as well as mechanisms for obtaining international recognitions. The Gulf Metrology Assembly’s 2022-2025 strategy was also reviewed.”
Al Muhairi said that continuous development of measurement and calibration processes will positively impact on the national economies of the GCC countries, and increase the competitiveness of the industrial products and services businesses of member countries. Emirates Institute of Metrology was established to provide an efficient metrology infrastructure and to be a strategic reference body that will help ensure accuracy of measurements. This will in turn lead to supporting industries and promoting the competitiveness of products, and raising the confidence in the national economy globally.
